Fearless Sports Journalist

Hawa Dauda is a very outstanding and fearless female sports journalist. She started broadcast journalism at Culture Radio 104.5FM in 2012, after taking her Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination at the Freetown Secondary School for Girls (FSSG) and Emam’s International School respectively.

Born at the Murray Town Military Barracks, west of Freetown, the capital City of Sierra Leone, Hawa Dauda carved out a niche for herself in the world of sports reporting sports.

She has since become an activist and advocate for female athletes.

A member of the Sierra Leone Association of Women Journalists, she also worked for African Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire between the years 2015 and 2018 and Freetown Television Network (FTN) between 2018 and 2019. She also did some work with News Watch Online Television, before gaining employment at Radio Mercury 92.1FM in 2020. Hawa Douda holds a Diploma in Journalism and Media from the Institute of Business and Administration (IBA).

In addition to reporting and participating in sports, her social interests include dancing, reading, and watching movies. Broadcast journalism for this young lady is a lifestyle that keeps her going.

She produces and presents the program “Women in Sports” on Radio Mercury 92.1FM every Thursday 4:30pm-5:30pm
