Sports Journalist
Franklin Campbell Franklin Campbell was born and raised in Freetown the capital city of Sierra Leone. He is a product of Fourah Bay College (FBC) University of Sierra Leone. He holds a BA Hons. Degree in Mass Communication. In 2015, Franklin Campbell was a volunteer at Radio Mount Aureol 103.7FM the university’s teaching radio station, run by the Mass Communications Department FBC. After completing his three months internship at Radio Mercury 92.1FM, he decided to render his services to the radio as a volunteer for over a year.
His love for broadcast journalism was born out of his passion for sports though he never had the opportunity to get himself involved in any top sporting activity.
Employed as a fulltime staff in 2019/20, the 6ft 2incs tall fella co-presents and co-produces one of Radio Mercury’s FM 92.1 flagship program “Back Page,” a review of international sports stories in both local and international newspapers aired every Monday-Friday 9:00 am-10:00 am.
He also co-produces and co-presents the “Early and Late Sets” international sports programs Monday-Friday 12noon-1:00 pm and 3:00 pm-4:00 pm respectively.
