Radio Presenter
She was born Shubuola Vida Fitz James on 23rd August in Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone. She got her radio name “Lady Ish” from the second syllable of the word “stylish”, because of her stylish radio presentation skills.
Her passion for broadcasting started in her high school years, where she competed in miming and singing competitions at her Annie Walsh Memorial Secondary School
The soft-spoken ‘Lady Ish,’ often interacts with her listeners and shares firsthand information that give the feel-good feeling.
After a brief stint with the Leone Sports Newspaper as a reporter Lady Ish joined Radio Mercury 92.1 FM in 2012, making her the third female voice at that time.
She is an Announcer and co-presents the station’s ‘Entertainment Weekly’ programme that comes on every Friday from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm. She also produces and presents the program ‘Education Talk’ on Tuesdays from 7:00 pm-8:00 pm.
Lady Ish holds a Diploma in Accounting from the University of Management and Technology (UNIMTECH), she is also a member of the Women In the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL).
